Book Club: The Owl and the Pussycat

An exciting new approach to book clubs with fun, interactive elements and an immersive learning environment. This lesson is themed around the famous British poem by Edward Lear, The Owl and the Pussycat. During this nonsense poem, the main characters go on an adventure together meeting fellow characters along the way and end with them getting married. These lesson resources provide you with everything you need to make an exciting and highly engaging reading and comprehension lesson for your students. Included are individual slides with graphics for each line of the poem. There is also a link included to an animated version offering more visuals to retain your student's attention. Within the 3D playground itself using Koala Go, students will parachute into the book itself. The playground includes different areas such as the pea-green boat, hill with the turkey, and bongo trees with treehouses to explore. To aid your student's comprehension and reading skills, there are riddles to solve, challenging words themed tic tac toe, matching rhyming words, and a fun comprehension board game to follow. No longer will your students be bored with old-fashioned teaching styles of reading followed by Q and A questions!
