Description

A Christmas playground story for students of 10+ years. In this playground, students will begin by writing a letter to Santa. Then as they are getting ready for bed, they notice a letter from Santa in the wardrobe, thanking them for their letter and inviting them to visit him. And so the adventure begins. They have a clue to use the chimney like Santa does and so they jump through the fireplace and are magically taken the reindeer’s stable where they choose the reindeers’ favourite food by solving the anagrams. Then they can pin the nose on Rudolph (with their eyes closed of course!) and label the reindeer diagram. The door then opens to a maze with a game of sentence Tic Tac Toe in the middle. As they leave the maze, students will find another activity where they have to use an information table to work out which children can and can’t do some winter sports. As a reward they can decorate a Christmas tree before finding their way into the igloo where some listening activities await. The path leads on to a “Find the words that don’t belong here” activity and they can dress their own snowman if they want. Up the steps we find a Christmas songs quiz where they have to identify the tenses in the lyrics. In the elves in the workshop, there are 3 activities, sorting the children into naughty and nice lists, filling some sacks with some presents written on lists, and a matching activity to match the elves to some spoken descriptions. Finally, students will find Santa’s house past some glittery trees. Don’t worry if they forgot to bring the key from the igloo, there’s a spare under the door mat. In Santa’s kitchen, there’s a quiz, a counting activity and a “find something that” activity. When they students go upstairs, they will need to answer a few questions about how good they’ve been this year, before they finally open the door to meet Santa, maybe... At this point, you could reward your student with some gems to buy their own dragon, but that’s up to you. This playground is based on the same format as the younger and mid-range playgrounds but the activities are harder for example they have to listen to audios instead of read words, write their own stickies and the vocabulary is at A2/B1 level. Have fun and happy Christmas! Please note that the video is of the younger playground because the layout is the same but you can see the difference in the activities by looking at the screenshots. Also, I took the doors out as I was moving through the playground to make my progress faster.
