Positional, Directional Words Maze
Description
Now updated, improved, and completely beta-tested, this charming playground is perfect for students looking for unique places to inspire conversation. At Earth level, you’ll find magical and mystical beings looking to engage your students in conversations about locations and directions. Throughout this level, students can use labeled objects that help English learners with conversation and vocabulary. Pools abound in this playground to add visual delight to the area, while giving access to various places in the lower level for those who need to bypass action zones. Many of the underground rooms also contain exit points to the water so that you can easily return to the upper level throughout the game. Students enjoy utilizing these “magic” pools, too! This leads to organic conversations asking “Where are you?” questions and learning directions to return to the original activity. For those who enjoy working below sea level, your students will relish in this additional space! Within the lower level, they’ll find a maze of activities including directional and positional words to engage action zones and use props in creative ways throughout! Unlike the free-flowing space at Earth level, students have a specific path they must follow with opportunities to find out what happens if they go the wrong direction, as well as discover fun and beautiful rooms when they follow directions carefully. Their opportunity for learning will increase as they happily revisit the maze again and again. Designed for lower to mid-level ESL students and early readers, students will enjoy this hidden gem of the playground world! Whiteboard activities included. Teachers can use the pre-created white board and homework activities (or make their own) to review the terms before the student attempts to complete the maze. https://www.teachwithkoala.com/affiliate/90ZOVK
