y/w/h Phonemic Awareness Series #11
Description
This is # 11 of a Phonemic Awareness Series of 11 activity sets. This activity focuses on the sounds /w/, /y/ and /h/. Phonemic Awareness is the ability to identify and change individual sounds in spoken words. For every sound, there are activities including a picture scavenger hunt, handwriting instruction and practice, writing games, picture sorts, and sound placement sorts. It teaches why these sounds should be taught together, starting from simple sound recognition to writing the letters and identifying the sound in different parts of words. Phonemic awareness is a crucial first step in the reading process. If your student struggles, check out the Phonemic Awareness Intervention Activities in the Koala Marketplace.
