Word Level- 1 Phonemic Awareness Intervention

This is the 1st in a 5 part series of Phonemic and Phonological Awareness Intervention Activities. This set of activities focuses on Word Level Phonemic Awareness (Preschool level) skills including: Sentence segmentation — Hearing individual words within a sentence. Blending — Blending smaller words to form a compound word. Tree + house = treehouse. Segmenting — Breaking a compound word into two smaller words. Treehouse = Tree + house. Deletion — Deleting one word from a compound word. “What is ‘treehouse’ without the tree?” (house). This intervention series is also associated with an 11 part phonemic awareness series focusing on specific sounds (found in the Marketplace).
